I am Lisa Borrelli Dorn and I am running for Magisterial District Judge for Mt. Lebanon and Dormont [www.Lisa4Judge.com]. I will draw on my 20+ years of public service in our local courts to render impartial and compassionate justice in our community.
Magisterial District Judges are not politicians; nor are they supposed to be. They are public servants, sworn to protect the rule of law and promote the public good. That’s what I’ll do as your magistrate. My experience makes me uniquely qualified to do the job. In our local courts, I have served as a mediator, a facilitator, an arbitrator, and a prosecutor. I have represented defendants, plaintiffs and the People. I have earned a reputation for listening, empathizing and working cooperatively with other attorneys, judges, elected officials and public safety personnel. 89% of the cases that go before a Magisterial District Judge are criminal in nature. I am the only candidate in the race with real experience in criminal law as well as having practiced in this Magisterial District . Of the 11% of cases that are civil, I have handled everything but the weddings!
I understand our communities’ needs and challenges because I know it well. I’ve owned a small business in Dormont and have lived with my family in Mt. Lebanon, raising three children here. Because I love my community, I’ve always tried to give something back. I coached softball, managed soccer teams, was Commodore of the High School Crew Team, served on the PTA, and most recently, as the president of Mt. Lebanon’s Community Relation Board. Anybody who knows me knows that I am an avid lover of animals, children, community involvement, and public service.
I want the best not only for my neighbors, but for all who would come before me. That’s how justice is served, and I have the experience, integrity, and track record to make equal justice under the law a reality for our citizens. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.
