Mt Lebanon was known as a Republican bastion with a moribund Democratic party organization for decades. But, that situation is now reversed and we can now lay claim to an active and engaged Democratic Committee that routinely elects Democrats to all local offices and is known for giving a strong voting edge for Democrats running for state and federal-level offices.
In 2007, Democratic voter registration pulled ahead of Republican voter registration, and since the Spring of 2018, Mt Lebanon can boast of having a majority of registered voters affiliated with the Democratic party. Of the 38 electoral districts in Mt Lebanon, all but four have a majority of Democrats, and none have more Republicans than Democrats.
We have achieved much in recent years, but our work never ends to elect true public servants who are responsive to the needs of the people. Committee members are committed to serve their Democratic constituents within each member’s ward and district.
