Valerie Fleisher is seeking her first term as School Director. She is a nonprofit leader with almost two decades of experience in the arts, higher education, and community development. She has an extensive background in board governance, nonprofit budgeting and finance, grant and contract management, human resources, and facilities management.
Valerie has a deep sense of public service and is a dedicated school and community volunteer, serving as Chair of the Spelling Bee at Howe, as a Den Leader for Cub Scout Pack 65, and on the Mt. Lebanon Economic Development Council. She is also a tireless community organizer and advocate for issues such as public education.
Valerie is a proud public school graduate who went on to earn her BA in American Literature from Barnard College, Columbia University, and an MA in American Studies from the University of Virginia.
Valerie and her husband, Chris, have a son at Howe Elementary School, and a daughter who will be joining him there in 2020.
