Andrew is running for School Director because he envisions a district that nurtures culturally responsible students that excel academically and succeed professionally in any field they choose. Andrew moved to Mt. Lebanon in 1996 as a third-grade student at Jefferson Elementary School and was one of the first students to attend the new Jefferson Middle School. After graduation from Mt. Lebanon High School, Andrew lived in the city of Pittsburgh for a time, but returned to Mt. Lebanon for its community appeal. While his experience as an African-American male in the Mt. Lebanon community was vastly different than that of his fellow classmates and most other community members, it allows him to bring the diversity of both racial experience and thought to the School Board.
Andrew and his wife Jamie have been married for 11 years and have two boys, Andrew Jr., age 10, and Jamison, age 2. Andrew has worked as an operational engineer since his graduation from the University of Pittsburgh, Swanson School of Engineering. In addition, he currently serves on the School Board and holds a position on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee.
